Volunteer Opportunities

Recreation and Leisure Enthusiasts are always welcome to help our members organize and/or run events.  Whether you are artsy, musical, or sporty, like to play games, or just want to meet new people and have fun, come join the KW AccessAbility fun squad!

Bus Drivers are needed to drive our wheelchair accessible 9-passenger vehicle.  Open up the world beyond Kitchener Waterloo for people who require accessible transportation.  The bus is also loaned to community groups requiring wheelchair accessible transportation for their out-of-town plans.  Volunteers must possess a valid F-Class Driver's License.

Computer Tutors.  Volunteers with tutoring experience are needed for Kitchener Waterloo AccessAbility's PHIRST LINK Accessible Computers & Information Technology programme to provide computer literacy instruction and adaptive computer technology training for persons with physical disabilities.  Contact PHIRST LINK Manager Ronald B. Fleming at 519-885-6640 Ext. 202.

Computer Refurbishers. Volunteers with hardware experience are needed for Kitchener Waterloo AccessAbility's PHIRST LINK Technology Recycling And Computer E-Waste initiative to test and refurbish donated computers, and to set them up with licensed software, so that they may be made available to our members, for use in their homes.  Contact PHIRST LINK Manager Ronald B. Fleming at 519-885-6640 Ext. 202.

Health and Wellness Programme. We are looking for volunteers in the health field who are encouraging, knowledgeable, motivating and who will help to create a positive space for our participants to achieve their health and wellness goals.  Student volunteers will facilitate fitness and nutrition classes, and will provide one-on-one support to our members.
