ADVOCACY

We often work together with individuals and organizations in an advocacy role.

Issues of immediate concern include:

  • Transportation

  • Education

  • Vocation

  • Housing

  • Attendant services

  • Accessibility

The vehicles for advocacy may include individual contact, courses on advocacy and social change, as well as group seminars or public forums.  If there is a particular subject or aspect of advocacy that you would like to learn (more) about, let us know.

We also make our facilities and resources available to local support groups.

Our staff are available and pleased to provide you individualized support and guidance, on communicating effectively, ensuring that your concerns are heard, learning about your community support system and the assistance that services provide for people with disabilities, and your rights and responsibilities as a consumer of services. Visit our Community Resource Links for more information on specific agencies.
