Health & Wellness Target Population
The Health and Wellness Programme is designed for youth, adults, and seniors with physical disabilities, and to reduce the risk factors of health issues.
Heart disease, diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure and other diseases are associated with limited participation in physical activities, and with unhealthy eating habits and food choices.
Our programme's youth initiative promotes and instills the concept of starting physical fitness routines, maintaining a healthy body weight, and improving self-confidence through social interaction at an early age.
For adults, we focus on improving overall fitness, physical strength, and mental health.
The programme's participants will enjoy improved quality of life and greater ability to participate in our community.
The Active Living Alliance suggests that healthy lifestyles for individuals with disabilities will help make coping with the everyday challenges of life easier, and can prevent lapses in certain diseases and health problems.
