KW AccessAbility Activities August 18 to 29

4:00 pm to 6:00 pm - Bowling at Bingeman's Kingpin - It's a Tuesday Special at only $2 per game (and there is a special on Cactus Fries for only $2.00 as well)! Here's your chance to get out and do some real bowling (instead of our usual game console version). Bingemans address is 425 Bingemans Centre Drive Kitchener and the MobilityPLUS drop off / pickup point is Kingpin Bowling.

 

5:30 pm to 10:00 pm - Campfire at Bingeman’s - CANCELLED due to rainy weather - watch for a re-scheduled date in September

12:30 pm to 3:30 pm - Teddy Bear Picnic - It's our annual event where we give back. Bring a new teddy bear or other stuffed animal that we will collect and donate to Kitchener Firefighters to distribute to children. You will get a choice of a BBQ Hamburger or Sausage, plus cold drinks, salads, chips and dessert, all for bringing a Teddy Bear. Don't have a stuffed toy, then the cost is only $5.00. Join us for lunch in the open air of a terrific park setting. We're in the covered picnic area near the kid's playground and Victoria Park Pavilion (80 Schneider Ave).

 

7:00 pm to 9:00 pm - Bike Night @ Duke & Dutchess Pub Cambridge - Come out and see some awesome custom motorcycles and meet the bikers! Food is available from the pub. Ghost Riders RC Three Cities hosts a Bike Night Thursdays 7-9 pm beside Duke and Dutchess Pub, 900 Jamieson Pkwy, CAMBRIDGE

It's a family friendly event with door prizes, 50/50 draw and raffles with proceeds going to charity. This week KW AccessAbility is the beneficiary.

 

8:00 am to 1:00 pm - KW AccessAbility Garage Sale - 65 Meadow Crescent Kitchener - End of Summer Garage Sale. A fundraiser in support of KW AccessAbility. Lots of great finds and buys. Help support KW AccessAbility Recreation Programme by donating items or dropping by and purchasing items. There will be soft drinks, iced tea and Freezies for sale as well. There will be a wide variety of items including clothing, jewelry, tools, books, DVD's, toys, furniture and more!   

 

 

1:00 pm to 2:30 pm - KWA Book Club Meeting - You've had time to read (or listen to) a great book, now come and join the other members who read it to share your thoughts and feelings about it. Then decide on the next book as we shift into fall.

12:30 pm to 3:00 pm - Explore Fairview Park Mall Shopping Day - If you haven't been to Fairview Park Mall (2960 Kingsway Dr, Kitchener) in a while, here's your chance to roam thru the mall and see what's changed. Find out if there are big end of season sales so you can add to your fall wardrobe or see what's new for winter. Whether you need help finding just the right outfit or just want to explore the mall we'll be there to help. MobilityPLUS drop off/pick-up is at the Food Court Entrance, so that's where we will meet.

 

 

1:00 pm to 3:30 pm - Wii Bowling Open Session - It's an afternoon of Wii Game Console Bowling fun on our Big Screen. As we have had special events on Wednesday's this final August Wii Bowling is open to any of the bowlers who want to come out. Please reply to this email or call the office 519-885-6640 to let us know you would like to join us this week. We increased the length of the event so there would be space available if a lot of you want to join. (Next Date for Group 1 is Wednesday September 3 and Group 2 is Wednesday September 10 as we get back to our regular schedule)

 

4:00 pm to 7:30 pm - End of Summer Party - We're heading back to Albert McCormick Community Room (500 Parkside Drive Waterloo) for a great end of summer bash! Join us in bidding farewell to summer and celebrating the members who have a birthday in August!  Have something good to eat, including cake. Enjoy a fun evening socializing. Event cost $5.
